There are a few general guidelines you can follow to build spiral stairs in Minecraft perfectly (just about 😉) every time:
- Use half-slabs, don't use stairs.
- Keep your stairs within the bounds of a perfect circle.
- Alternate between two block patterns on each new slab level.
To help illustrate the alternating block patterns, try out our spiral stairs helper tool below. You'll see that half-slab levels ½, 1½, 2½, and 3½ share a pattern, and half-slab levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 share a pattern, just in different rotations.

You're now a spiral stairs master! Follow the guidelines above you'll be able to confidently make stairs of any block radius. The block patterns aren't an exact science, just make sure that each pattern has around the same amount of blocks and you'll be golden.
